editing
Let me help you level up your writing.
Passive voice there. A comma splice here. Using an editor can help you fine-tune your message and add an extra level of polish. I’ve had the privilege of editing and collaborating with hundreds of other writers over the past ten years. Put my experience to good use.
Mailchimp
In my work for Mailchimp, I work with a team of editors to maintain the company’s distinct voice and tone across all of their communications–including blog content, web content, social media posts, and more.
ArtsATL
For two years I had the honor of serving as Executive Editor of ArtsATL. While at the helm we published over 500 stories a year by 70+ contributors from a wide array of backgrounds. With help from my Executive Director, Susannah Darrow, we also rebranded and updated our website for a new era.
DotDash
When “about.com” divided its content between multiple publications, they brought on a team of editors to update and optimize that content for those various websites, including Investopedia, The Balance, and The Spruce.
The Bitter Southerner
In 2020 the Bitter Southerner brought me on board to help them copy-edit their fourth edition of The Bitter Southerner Reader.
Central Indiana Community Fund
Sometimes you’ve only got 36-hours to get a 93-page grant proposal out the door. When projects take a mad dash to get across the finish line, good grammar and syntax can fly out the window. The Central Indiana Community Fund tapped us to make sure that wasn’t the case. We collaborated with their team to make sure their grant application was grammatically sound and consistent in voice and tone within their timeframe.
Scoutmob
While at Scoutmob I managed and edited local content in 13 different markets across the United States, including Atlanta, Nashville, Washington D.C., San Francisco and New York. I worked with freelance and full-time staff to develop our editorial calendar as well as directed social media in Atlanta, assigned, edited, and wrote stories.
